Support to Farmers

There is market opportunity of about Rs. 600 crores for which about 6,50,000 MT of bamboo production is required per annum (Study of INBAR, 2003). This leaves a gap of 4,50,000 MT per annum in state of Orissa, if total market opportunity is captured.

Support to Farmers (Grant-in-aid)

Central Nursery Private Sector(0.25 Ha.)	Rs.68,000/- per Nursery
Kissan/ Mahila Nursery (0.10 Ha.)	Rs.6500/- per Nursery
Bamboo Plantation	50% of cost subject to a maximum of; Rs.8000/- per Ha. subject to limit 4 Ha..                                                                                  Plantation per beneficiary.
Improvement of Existing Bamboo Stock	Rs.12/- per clump subject to limit of 2 Ha. per beneficiary.
Pest and Disease Management of the Plantation Level	Rs.200/- per Ha. for non forest area.
Micro Irrigation	50% of the cost subject to maximum of Rs.20,000/- per Ha. subject to limit of 4 Ha per beneficiary.
